Cognitive Workload Assessment of Aircraft Pilots

چکیده
In this research, we study the cognitive workload of aircraft pilots during a simulated takeoff procedure. We propose proof-of-concept setup environment to gather heart rate, pupil dilation, and brain data an A320 within simulator. Experiments were performed which collected 136 takeoffs across 13 for more than 9 hours time-series data. Moreover, paper investigates correlations between such exercise found that spike in load critical moment, as engine failure, augments pilot’s rate dilation. Results show moment procedure increases load. Next, used stacked-LSTM model predict 5 seconds into future. The was able produce accurate predictions.

Computer-assisted cognitive function assessment of pilots
in an environment unforgiving of human error, where cognitive failure can lead to catastrophic consequences. Cognitive function testing is one means of selecting mentally capable pilots. It is also a means of screening for covert disease, and it can be used to establish baseline performance data and provide ongoing monitoring of health. (For these reasons, cognitive function testing of all acti...
متن کاملPrevalence of Backache in Aircraft Pilots
General medical practitioners in the air force often find Backache (BA) an occupational sequel in pilots. BA is often due to prolonged sitting, ineffective lumbar support, poor posture, having to lean forward to reach for navigational buttons and vibrations that can produce disc damage via microtrauma [1]. It is difficult to make a clear association between the type of aircraft and BA [2]. Howe...

This paper investigates mental workloadassessment using statistical features derived fromelectroencephalography (EEG) signals. Mean, root meansquared, and correlation-based features are extracted from dataincluding EEG signal recordings of five participants performinga reading task with three difficulty levels of low, medium, andhigh and a baseline condition. Results rev...
متن کاملThe optokinetic cervical reflex in pilots of high-performance aircraft.
BACKGROUND For over 60 yr, researchers and engineers have based investigations and the design of cockpit displays and structures upon the presupposition that during flight the pilot maintains a head alignment coincident with the aircraft's vertical axis (z-axis). Recent simulator studies have verified the existence of a pilot neck reflex which refutes this long-standing assumption. This reflex,...
